I have always been naturally curious, with an analytical mind and a keen eye for detail. Add to that a love for things that are beautiful, intriguing, or have a good story behind them, and studying History of Art seemed almost inevitable. I went on to complete both my degree and Master's in the subject, gradually accumulating an ever-growing fascination with Portuguese art, history and culture.

For more than 12 years, I have worked as a guide, museum and heritage educator, and cultural events planner. My work has taken me to museums, monuments and heritage sites across Portugal and allowed me to build relationships with people who are genuinely passionate about the places they care for. It has also given me the privilege of meeting people from all over the world.

That experience has taught me something important about travelling: despite all our differences, we are often looking for remarkably similar things. We want to feel that we have connected with a place rather than simply passed through it. We want to understand something of its character, discover things we might not have found on our own, and come home with memories that are more meaningful than a collection of photographs.

As an art historian, I take the information I share seriously. I keep up with research, revisit sources and continue learning because our understanding of history is not fixed. When something is uncertain or debated, I would rather acknowledge that than turn a complicated story into a conveniently tidy one.

I am approachable, adaptable but also methodical and resourceful. If something changes, I tend to look for a solution rather than a problem. I have been told I have a slightly dry sense of humour. I'll let you be the judge of that.

I am also a mother of two, which has taught me a lot about patience, and about how sometimes taking a deep breath, relaxing and having a snack are crucial to a successful day. And obviously always know where the closest playground is.Together with my experience as a museum and heritage educator, this means I am more than happy to adapt tours for families and children of all ages.

I hope to share Lisbon with you in a way that feels personal, thoughtful and genuine—and perhaps leave you with the feeling that you have made a connection with a place rather than simply visited it.
