After a very long break from tour guiding, I sometimes feel as though I have walked into a time machine. The world of tourism has changed dramatically: AI, algorithms and enormous booking platforms now shape not only how travellers find tours, but increasingly what those tours look like.

And somewhere in all of this, I find myself wondering what happens to the things that don’t fit the format.
